This fall, the Port of Monroe held “Heritage Days” a one-of-a-kind event celebrating the Port’s rich history of transportation.

The star of Heritage Days was the Great Lakes Towing tug America, which was rededicated by Paul LaMarre Jr. at the Port’s turning basin dock.

We had flyovers from the Lake Erie War Birds, Yankee Air Museum, Bob Shafer, and the Commemorative Air Force’s Rise Above Squadron.

Other attractions and vendors included the Michigan Steam Engine Threshers Club, Midland Antique Engine Association, a 1960’s era hydroplane with twin Allison engines from a World War 2 P-38 Lightning, Mike Oberloier’s Wixom Lake Steam shovel restoration display.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS AND OUR COMMUNITY FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THE PORT OF MONROE!

THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS WHO MADE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE!
